Beau
When Beau was just 4 days old, doctors discovered he had experienced a stroke in utero. He was immediately transferred to Children’s Nebraska where his care journey began. Beau worked with a dedicated team of specialists—including an occupational therapist, physical therapist, and genetic specialist—who helped him through those early challenges.
At 18 months, Beau was diagnosed with cerebral palsy. With the help of his orthopedic doctor, he made great strides in his development. But just after turning 4, Beau experienced another stroke-like event, and he was diagnosed with a rare form of epilepsy called DEE-SWAS.
A team of neurology experts and an epileptologist determined that brain surgery was his best option—and they were right. Nearly three years later, Beau is seizure free.
Beau’s family is incredibly grateful for the care team at Children’s Nebraska who supported them at every turn, answered every question, and never gave up. Today, you’ll find Beau doing what he loves most: playing baseball with his team. ⚾️❤️
