Brooke

At 8 years old, Brooke’s pediatrician noticed an abnormal gate that led doctors to discover she had a collapsed L5 vertebrae. Further testing showed she had Ewing’s Sarcoma. She was quickly admitted to Advocate Children’s Hospital, where she met the team of specialists who would guide her care—including child life experts, neurologists, hematologists, and oncologists.

Her care team determined she would need both chemotherapy and spine surgery. Thanks to their expertise and support, Brooke successfully completed treatment. While she is navigating complications from chemo, she is doing much better—and excelling in school as an honors student!

Her family is grateful for the way Advocate Children’s Hospital went beyond medical care to ensure she didn’t fall behind in school and connected with Camp OneStep —where she found community. 🌟
