Christian
At birth, Christian faced daunting medical challenges—gastroschisis and faced serious complications that caused severe liver damage. Even with a G-tube, he couldn’t digest nutrients and relied on TPN IV nutrition, underwent major surgery to remove part of his intestines. Seeking a second opinion, his family turned to Boston Children’s Hospital, a decision that changed everything.
Boston Children’s developed a comprehensive treatment plan that reversed his colostomy, protected his liver, and weaned him off IV nutrition. They didn’t just save his life—they gave him a future.
Now 9, Christian is thriving. He loves acting, fishing, traveling, and playing sports with his brothers. He continues to receive care at Boston Children’s that evolves with his needs, focusing on allowing him to reach his full potential, not just his diagnosis.
Christian and his family are grateful for his care team and proud to join #TeamCHA at #FAD2025 to share his story and the critical role CHIP has played in his access to care with federal lawmakers.
