Thomas
Thomas is 4 and lives with complex medical needs, including HIE, cerebral palsy, refractory epilepsy, and global developmental delay. With care from Dell Children’s Medical Center and the support of Medicaid, he’s come further than anyone imagined.
After a stretch of 8 hospitalizations in 9 months, Thomas recently made it 9 months without being admitted. That kind of progress doesn’t happen by chance—it’s the result of a care team focused on prevention, partnership, and quality of life.
Today, Thomas is enrolled in school, participating in therapy intensives, and breaking personal records—like holding his head up and sitting independently. His care is complex, but with the right team and the right coverage, it’s manageable and full of hope.
He and his family are proud to be part of #TeamCHA and will be sharing their story at #FAD2025 to help protect Medicaid—and the care that makes all of this possible.
